Message	particular cylinder, and any trigger points between the assigned cylinder trigger(s) are only good for semi-instantaneous RPM measurement. I agree this would give a higher resolution of how many times RPM can be measured during a cycle; but what benefit is it to measure RPM 24, 36, or 60+ times per rotation over 12 times?... other than detecting a misfire and zeroing in on which cylinder is the culprit.
